Sorting usually happens before we arrive — with the homeowner, a family member, or a professional organizer or counselor. If you’re reaching out on behalf of a family member, that’s the most common situation we see. Once sorting is done, JunkStart handles the lifting, hauling, and clearing from there.

Not every cluttered home reflects a clinical hoarding disorder. Many people accumulate more than they intended over time. Either way, we approach every cleanout the same way: with discretion, without judgment, and focused on helping you move forward.

We handle removal only — not deep cleaning, disinfecting, or biohazard remediation. If those services are needed, we’re happy to coordinate timing so everything happens in the right order.

A base pickup fee covers labor, fuel, transport, and responsible disposal. From there, you pay a per-pound rate based on verified weight. You see the number before anything leaves.

When possible, items are separated for donation or recycling. Personal documents and valuables are flagged for the homeowner or family before loading. Everything else is taken to approved disposal facilities.
