JunkStart started in San Antonio, Texas, with a simple question: why is junk removal priced on guesses?

Founder Daniel McCarty saw the industry relying on “truckload” pricing — crews estimating volume on-site and negotiating from there. It worked for the companies. But customers were often paying for empty space, and most of them had no way to know it.

So he changed it.

By adding certified onboard scales to every truck, JunkStart introduced a pricing model based on weight, the same way disposal facilities already charge.

If dumping is priced by the pound, pickup should be too.
